"Dry" season is from December/January to late April/early May and coincides with the "high" season for visitors. Days of clear sunny skies, good sailing breezes, low humidity and minimal rainfall are the norm. Occasionally, welcomed rain squalls blow through, most often in evening. The island is totally reliant on rain for its water, so the arrival of the "rainy" season in May/June is always a blessing.
The warmer, summer months of May to November are a welcome mixture of cooling showers, sunshine and light breezes, with the occasional heavy downpour. Our trees and flowers are typically more in bloom and beautiful at this time of year. The additional rains are not enough to ruin a holiday, just enough to cool it off!
Bequia is at the southern end
of the hurricane belt, and although tropical storms will occasionally
approach in the peak months of August to October, most disturbances pass
to the north. Sometimes swells will reach Bequia from these storms causing
temporary beach erosion.
